Business Location Portraits – Different ways of doing the same thing…

employee-portraits all in different areas of the office

Here is an example of four portraits, all taken in the same office, but in different areas of that office. The negative space off to the side of each employee was let so that the designer could add type, describing the employee.

Business Location Portraits – Different ways of doing the same thing…

Here are two different ways of doing location business portraits.  Option one is to shoot everyone in the same location. The advantages of this are time and money, which are pretty much the same thing.  Moving from place to place to set up the lights, figure out the crop, maybe block some stray light, all that takes time.  If you decide to shoot all the portraits in one place, then, for the same amount of money invested, you can have more portraits taken.  If you have a large organization or you budget is tight, you might find this a better option.

If you like the look of having every employee’s portrait taken in a different area, the shoot will take a bit longer and of course it will be more expensive, but if that’s what you prefer, then that’s the way to go.  You don’t take portraits all that often, so you might as well get something you love instead of making a compromise you have to live with for a few years.

Business location portraits, all in the same area

This is from a recent shoot for a company that choose to have all their portraits taken in the same spot in the office. Frankly, there weren’t many places to choose from, to this was probably the best option for this business.
